Symptoms

Tapping or clicking under load.

Cause

Grassroots says this is a side-effect of the engine's unusual exhaust layout, made louder by aftermarket exhaust/injectors or missing heat shields. Not a reason to walk away; still listen for real rod knock.

Fix (summary)

None needed in itself. Compression-test modified cars.
