Honda S2000 (AP2, 2004-2009): Suspension mods

Added · Updated

What are the best suspension mods for the Honda S2000 (AP2, 2004-2009)?

It depends on the car’s condition and how you use it. These are the 2 suspension build entries we have sourced for this car: Fit CR springs, dampers and bars to any S2000 (Limited); Quicker steering for a 2004-05 AP2 with an AP1 rack (Limited). Each lists caveats, related problems and sources so you can match it to your goal.

Fit CR springs, dampers and bars to any S2000 Limited

Owners say springs, dampers and stabilizer bars interchange across all S2000 years, so the CR's stiffer setup (Honda's 2008 introduction) bolts into an AP1 or a regular AP2. AP1 owners also use AP2 parts to calm the rear.

Caveats: Align afterwards; replace the damper bolts as the procedure calls for. Mixing generations changes the balance. Forum sources only.

Quicker steering for a 2004-05 AP2 with an AP1 rack Limited

Owners fit the AP1's 13.8:1 rack to 2004-05 AP2s (14.9:1 from the factory). The CR's 13.8:1 rack is the factory option for later cars, but the thread read reports no finished swap.

Caveats: Steering is safety-critical; get it aligned and checked. Forum sources only.
