Unconfirmed. The 2005-07 STI 17x8 +53 matches the VA's 5x114.3 pattern and the 56.1 mm bore wheel guides give, and is 2 mm off the VA WRX's own 17x8 +55, and the WRX front brake is the '17-inch type'. Nobody reports trying it on a VA, and a retailer's thread says even the factory WRX 17x8 does not clear STI Brembos, so do not plan on it over STI brakes.
