RF roof will not open or close
Added · Updated
What causes "RF roof will not open or close" on the Mazda Miata ND (2016-present US model years), and how is it fixed?
A guide says the roof only runs under about 10 km/h with the ignition on, not in reverse, the trunk closed and the car tilted no more than about 15 degrees; when a real fault exists it is often a window regulator. Fix: Check the interlock conditions and both fuses first, then the window regulators.
Symptoms
The retractable fastback roof stops partway or will not start.
Cause
A guide says the roof only runs under about 10 km/h with the ignition on, not in reverse, the trunk closed and the car tilted no more than about 15 degrees; when a real fault exists it is often a window regulator. The roof and deck have separate fuses.
Fix (summary)
Check the interlock conditions and both fuses first, then the window regulators. Single guide source.
