Details
The 2.5 L version of the NC's engine family drops in on the stock mounts and transmission. The balance shafts must come out and their oil feed be drilled, tapped and plugged; many 2.0 parts are moved over (oil pan and pickup, crank pulley, lower intake with its ports opened up, coils, thermostat housing). The 2.5 stands about an inch taller. One shop's notes give tips for pulling the engine from the top; another writer found a cross bar blocked that and dropped engine, transmission and front subframe out the bottom. A tune is needed, and emissions legality varies by state.
