Honda Civic EK (1996-2000): Brakes mods

Added · Updated

What are the best brakes mods for the Honda Civic EK (1996-2000)?

It depends on the car’s condition and how you use it. These are the 2 brakes build entries we have sourced for this car: EK rear disc conversion with Si, del Sol or Integra arms (Limited); Larger front brakes on an EK: what is and is not settled (Limited). Each lists caveats, related problems and sources so you can match it to your goal.

EK rear disc conversion with Si, del Sol or Integra arms Limited

Bolt on complete disc trailing arms (99-00 Si, Integra or del Sol Si/VTEC), with Si rear lines, disc parking brake cables, new bushings and pads, and ideally a Si proportioning valve. Keep the Civic lower arms.

Caveats: Forum-sourced; safety-critical; bleed and test before driving.

Parts: OEM rear disc brake on its trailing arm from a 1999-2000 Civic Si, OEM rear disc trailing arm assembly from a 1994-01 Integra (non-Type R), OEM rear disc brake on its trailing arm (hub, caliper, rotor 42510-SR3-A11) from a Civic del Sol Si / VTEC

Larger front brakes on an EK: what is and is not settled Limited

The 1999-2000 Si front brakes are the obvious donor, but sources disagree on their size (10.7 vs 10.3 in.), and none read confirms the swap on DX/LX knuckles.

Caveats: Unresolved; see F-ek-18.
