Fix the cam-plate oil seep before it cooks on the exhaust Reported
If you smell burnt oil, look at the plate at the back of the left cylinder head. Under warranty, the dealer follows Subaru's oil-seepage bulletin. Out of warranty, owners reseal the stock plate or fit a billet plate that seals with an O-ring.
Caveats: Clean surfaces matter: another owner said one DIY reseal method was likely to fail. The plate only exists on manual cars.
Related issues: Oil seepage from the cam plate, cam carriers or timing cover
Parts: Raceseng billet cam (block-off) plate with O-ring seal
