Added · Updated
What are the best reliability mods for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (2003-2005)?

Replace the Evo VIII timing belt on schedule Reported
The 2003 US service manual's schedule calls for a timing belt replacement at 60,000 miles (and lists it again at 105,000 unless already done), plus oil changes every 5,000 miles or 5 months. Treat a car without belt records as due.
Caveats: For California, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine, the manual marks the 60,000-mile belt change as recommended but not required to keep the emissions warranty. The schedule read is the 2003 manual; a 2004-06 schedule was not read.
